Can I still apply if Barclays is not present in the country where I live?

Yes, you can still enter. The challenge is open to anyone aged 18-35 years who lives permanently in Africa.

How will Barclays use my idea?

The challenge is designed for you to showcase your ideas and skills. Barclays may want to work in partnership with your team to develop your idea, even if you are not the overall winner. The challenge winner will be given 6 months mentoring from Barclays.

Who is eligible to enter?

Any team whose members are aged 18-35 and reside permanently in Africa. More detailed T&Cs are available here.

How detailed does my idea need to be to enter?

Each entry must include:

  • Description of the idea/business
  • Team overview
  • Target customer or market
  • Revenue model/financials
  • Short video

Will Barclays cover my expenses?

Barclays will cover the travel and accommodation costs for one member of your team to attend the final round pitches and announcement of the winners the following day.
